Name: Alexander "Alex" Kazama
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Personality: Alex's demeanor is a generally positive one; He's no optimist, but he's no pessimist, either. He tries to think of himself as a realist. He has a tendency to treat others with the "Golden Rule", so is generally kind and open-hearted to those who actually treat him well. Give him a hard time, and, well. Don't be surprised if "Idiot" becomes your new nickname. He has a tendency to be quite the snark, spitting out venomous barbs whenever he sees an opportune moment, but it's usually all in good fun. He can be burdened by guilt very easily, so will either apologize profusely, or try to make it up to you if something happens to someone else. It's even worse if someone gets hurt. Because of this, he has a strong urge to protect those close to him. Though he has a troubled past, and maybe even a few psychological issues to work out, he really does try his best to hide his pain, and be strong for others.
Bio: Alex was born to two well-off business workers in town. He was an only child, so there was usually no one else but his mother and father to watch after him. Unfortunately, when he was eight, his father never came home after work. The only clues that anyone had was he was last seen with a woman in black, with hair like snow. After months of searching, police had to declare him dead. This devastated Alex, but he used it to drive himself to help people. Originally, he wanted to become a standard police officer. His uncle on his mother's side was a retired Hunter, so this is where his abilities in combat began to develop. His uncle was a master with a gunblade (Unoriginal, I know. Sue me .), so before he even touched the weapon, Alex was taught to be a marksman first, and a swordsman later on. It took Alex quite a while to get used to firearms, but with his uncle, he soon learned to be a crackshot. Swordsmanship was a different story; Alex took to the blade like a fish takes to water. He moved so quickly, so gracefully. When he was eleven, he finally started training with the gunblade. His mother was rather stern about it, and thought it was much too young to use a weapon, but she trusted her brother to keep her son safe. It was a totally new experience for Alex, but he was so driven, so passionate, to learn. In his spare time, when he wasn't studying, when he couldn't sleep, all he would do is practice with the blade.
At age thirteen, he joined Signal Academy. At age sixteen, he designed his own gunblade. A completely new design, with the help of his uncle, of course. More agile, more versatile, and made with a lighter, more firm material. Thinking gunblade was rather dull, he gave it its own name; Yukianesa, or Yuki for short. It was also his mother's maiden name.
One late night, walking home from Signal, someone in particular caught his eye. It was a woman in a beautiful black coat, with a skirt and leggings of the same color, but her hair was a beautiful white in color. She seemed to be talking to an older gentleman, and the two walked deeper into the city. Alex was drawn to her, there was something about her. Halfway through tailing her, it occurred to him that this must be the woman that was last seen with his father. They walked deeper into the city's more underground and notorious districts, and, finally, into what he assumed was her home. He waited and waited, thinking maybe he had the wrong person. Until, finally, he heard a blood curdling scream. He was about to act, but a white rune appeared on the door, causing it to shatter inwards. An off-red blur darted past him, entering the home. He assumed it was a trap, but didn't care. He wanted revenge. He dashed in, seeing a girl, no older than him, clad in vermilion and fighting off a small pack of beowolves with twin daggers. He grabbed Yuki from the holster on his lower back, fighting off the beasts with ease. The two warriors bickered, until a beowolf with a white streak of fur attacked the two. They were overwhelmed very quickly, but Alex managed to deliver a nasty slash across the beast's eyes. The last thing they had heard was, "I've got your scents!" before the beast vanished. The young woman with Alex, who's name was Vera, began berating Alex. She accused him of ruining her trap, that he was brash and rushed into something he couldn't possibly understand. Of course, Alex had to explain his side. That his father was taken, and apparently, used as a food source for this pack of beowolves. She instantly changed her mood, apologizing to him, and eventually offering to treat his wounds at her home. She had left a trail of magical runes that led back to her rather large house. She introduced herself as Veronique Vallat, and, even though they were bickering hours ago, they quickly became friends. Her cheerful demeanor almost mirrored his at the time introverted personality, and opened up to her quickly. She offered to escort him back home, and he accepted. Unfortunately, there were a few people waiting for them when they got there. A few police officers, and a Huntress, and an ex-Hunter, his uncle. Alex was terrified. He dashed inside of his home, tearing past the officers that refused to allow him in. His home was thrashed, and on the wall, written in blood, was "I STILL HAVE YOUR SCENT"
Sobbing in anger and pain, Alex vowed to not only find the beast responsible, but to make sure this would never happen to anyone else. To ensure no one had to endure the pain he went through.
The years that followed weren't necessarily the easiest. He studied hard during his final days at Signal, but was still declining in not only grades, but health. His insomnia started, along with a decline of a mental stability. He still suffers from a few lingering issues, such as panic attacks, insomnia, and depression, on occasion.
Physical Appearance: Alex is a somewhat tall boy, standing at a solid six feet, with a thin, yet solid layer of muscle on his body. His complexion is pale, but not ghastly so, with heterochromatic eyes; one a striking emerald green, the other, a blazing amber color. His hair is of medium length, with his bangs parted slightly to the left, just above his brow level. In the back, it reaches down to the bottom of his neck, yet it's usually pulled back into a stubby ponytail. The color of his hair is a solid jet black, with the tips tinted with azure. He also has five piercings; three small loops on his left ear, two on his right. Also a dark azure in color.
Clothing/Armor: His attire usually consists of, starting from the top, a worn black denim jacket, with a white hoodie underneath. Said hoodie is rather slim and fitting to his form, with a hood attached to the back. The hood, when worn, can act as a way to hide his face from others. There's a small azure stripe on the sweater, leading from the middle of his back where it meets the neck, to the crown of his head. The denim jacket sometimes has its sleeves folded up for no apparent reason. There is no apparent reason, but Alex has a small handful of belts attached to his waist. One attached normally, to ensure his pants stay in place, that's of black leather. The other two are a dark azure, hooked around his waist on opposite belt loops, so they sag down to each side of his hip. His pants are an alabaster in color, and also rather slim, but made of a material ensuring maneuverability. His shoes are a slip on design, with a black and white checkerboard pattern.
Semblance: Minor Gravity Manipulation. Alex can alter, to an extent, the effect of gravity on a particular person or object. This can include using it to increase the height of jumps, or reduce the risk of injury due to falling.
Color Represented: Azure
Fairy Tail Represented: Hansel and Gretel
Emblem: A black bullet encased in a shard of ice.
Miscellaneous Info: Has a fondness for bladed weaponry. In fact, he has a small collection of pocket knives and throwing knives. He's also a hopeless romantic, courtesy of various television shows he'd watch in his youth. He has a fondness for music, especially, considering it seems to be one of the only things that can calm him down. He is sometimes prone to having episodes of depression, anxiety, insomnia, and a few other mental health issues from his past. He is also self-conscious of his heterochromia, having been picked on because of his eyes.
