Name: Faith Sherman
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Personality: Faith is pretty much the textbook definition of shy. She generally keeps her cards close to her chest, and is rather timid, often times avoiding contact or conflict. Though, underneath this shy, timid, and incredibly awkward exterior, lies an incredibly kind and understanding girl. As much as Faithe hates confrontation, she can also be very, very angry if her friends are pushed around, and gets very defensive, very quickly. She can also be terrifying to be around when her patience is tested, often giving a Hellish stare.
Bio: Faith didn’t necessarily have the most normal of childhoods. She was the bastard child of an executive office holder and a lowly clerk. It isn’t as unfortunate as it sounds; the woman purposefully seduced the man in order to sue for alimony and child care. She wanted his money. He, of course, couldn’t stand for this. After years of anger and being on a leash, he ordered her murder, leaving little five year old Faith without any parents. Sure, it wasn’t easy, but the woman still loved her daughter. What’s worse, is she saw the whole thing happen. Her mother had told her to hide in the closet, and she watched as the man planted a bullet in her mother’s heart.
This landed her in a rather unpleasant orphanage, where she stayed for all of a week, before she was told she had been adopted. She was ecstatic, but when she saw who was waiting for her, she felt her blood run cold. There stood the man she saw mere weeks ago kill her mother in cold blood.
He was terrible. He made her do all the housework, all the cleaning, and all of the agonizing work. She had no choice but to act like she didn’t know who this man was, and it was terrible. The one thing she did in her off time, though, was watch all of the action movies the man had in his extensive collection. Normally, she’d be appalled at the violence, but it really intrigued her. She began analyzing the movies, about Hunters, Huntresses, and other action heroes go guns-blazing in insane scenes, also reading up on various guns in the movies, their histories, and their inner workings. This continued until she was about ten, when the man became more violent.
As she got older, he got more aggressive. He would try and assault her, hit her, and yell at her. He would get drunk and lose all control. He would yell and scream and throw furniture around.
She tried to ignore it. She really did. She hated the way she was treated.
She had an affinity towards nature, as well. Whenever she was outside doing work, she would sing and whistle along with the birds that seemed to flock around her, and loved the bunnies or other creatures that would approach her whenever she was alone outside. She treated them with kind hands and an open heart; the exact opposite of what she was given.
It was one night in particular that changed the course of Faith’s life. After another round of yelling and screaming, the man did not notice that, in his fit of rage, he had broken the railing of the balcony’s hand railing, on the second story. Backed into the corner, Faith panicked when he made a rush for her. She jumped out of the way, and the man went straight through the hand railing, tumbling to the ground below and snapping his neck when he made contact with the earth.
The sirens blared that night, and the police questioned her. She did nothing but tell them the truth, and they believed her. It was hard not to, with the bruises on her body, and the amount of alcohol on the site.
She was moved to live with who she was told was her birth mother’s older sister who didn’t have any children of her own. She was a nice woman, being the librarian at Beacon Academy, so had a large collection of books. In her off time, Faith would spend her time reading the books and taking in the information that was right at her disposal. She was now able to read the stories of other action heroes and triumphant Hunters. It made her want to study at Signal.
Her Aunt was very supportive, and allowed her to enter Signal. Her weapon of choice was obvious, when she was able to forge her own weapons. She spent years and years studying and perfecting her Gun Kata. While she did make top grades, she still went by unnoticed because of how reclusive she is. Because of her studying habits, and lack of socialization as a child, she came to be rather timid.
Physical Appearance: Faith has s fair skin complexion with no visible blemishes on her skin. Her eyes are a brilliant cyan in color, with long, pretty eyelashes, and she stands at five feet, one inch tall. Her hair is a pale strawberry blonde -almost a pale pink in color, and is rather long, usually covering her right eye in the front and reaching down to her neck, and down to the small of her back. She’s rather petite, as well, though wouldn’t be considered too skinny.
Clothing/Armor: Starting from the top, Faith usually has a pair of fuchsia framed turtleshell glasses resting atop her nose. Her top layer of clothing is a pale green longsleeve shirt made of a comfortable, light material with a small hood on the back, as well, though she almost never wears it. The top of the sweater is rather loose, hanging just above her shoulders rather than a standard crew neck would be at the neck. Below that, she wears very pale yellow, nearly ivory, jeans held by a single white leather belt. Her shoes are standard white boots, lightly heeled, with hues of fuchsia in them.
Semblance: Faith is able to focus her Aura into her brain and mind, allowing for incredibly acute situational awareness at an alarming speed. She uses this for Gun Kata. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, Faith has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically-predictable element. The Gun Kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents, while keeping the defender clear of the statistically-traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increased lethal proficiency makes the master of the Gun Katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. Essentially, predict where to shoot the enemy, predict where not to be when taking fire.
